100 days

well today devin and i have been married for 100 days! these days have been filled with laughter and tears, loads of laundry, other weddings, lots of movie nights, grocery shopping and much more!

one of our favorite things to do is watch movies! until just last week we didnt have internet so instead of being on facebook and playing games online we watched a lot of movies together, and now that we have internet we still watch a lot of movies. honestly i think it was a good thing for us to not have internet at first, we learned to live without it and when we really needed it we could go to devin's parents house and use their connection. but back to movies, we have watching everything from the little mermaid to undercover blues to sweet home Alabama to monster in law. devin has introduced me to the fort wayne public library. those who know me would think i have lost my mind but i love it! for two reasons, on-site dunkin doughnuts and a HUGE movie section! most nights we have a snack and a movie and go to sleep. almost like an old married couple... just without the old part!

something else we have enjoyed together is our couples devotional, no greater love by russ rice, brad silverman, and lisa guest. it is 90 days of learning how to love your spouse in the sacrificial and unconditional way God loves us. each days includes a scripture, story, prayer, and love action. the love action might be my favorite part, it is 2 suggestions of things to do that go along with that days devotional, things like going for walks or swinging at the park or doing each others most hated chores. it also has things to talk about. anything from discussing your favorite worship song to telling your testimony to weather you like your pizza reheated in the microwave or the oven. over all its a good book!

i am already longing for another honeymoon. the time to relax, stair into each others eyes with pure joy and amazement, hours on end to focus on each other without the distractions of the real world. no rent/bills to pay, no coupons to clip, no floors to mop, and no dishes to wash. no headlines about iraq or the president to worry about, and no drama of what to wear or how to fix my hair. just pure joy, hand in hand with my husband. more time to walk on the beach, more ice cream cones to eat on the pier, more sea shells to find, and more sunrises to get up and watch for 5 minutes before turning to bed til 10! this time will come but never fast enough. for now i'll just love in the real world and try to enjoy every minute of it.

how did we celebrate 100 days you ask.... well we didnt really. we slept in because it was devins day off. then we spent most of the day with our good friend livv. we went to lunch (devins choice - mexican) and watched some movies, surprise surprise. after livv left we went to the grocery store together to buy a gallon of milk! so romantic right! and we ending the night with come friendly competition through an online game, devin bought me some beautiful roses, and i made mini muffins!

so when it comes to being married i couldnt ask for anything more. God has blessed us beyond our comprehension and we long to bring glory to him through it all! will all the trials and mountains we have faced and all the smiles and fun times we have shared in this short time i can only imagine what we will experience in the next 100 days, and years so come!

a few of my favorite things

so as i was cleaning today i was reminded that as tough as things may get your always surrounded by small things that you can or do love. at different times in your life those things will change and sometimes reoccur. these things bring comfort and smiles. so here are a few of my favorite things i saw today....

yummy breakfast, learned to love wheaties and ice cold milk from my dad!

hot tea, coffee, cocoa, mint steamers
i think i got this love from my momma!
but i know i got these super cute jumbo size mugs from her!

body glitter, curl booster, moose, and my (current) favorite body wash (in foam form)
i love being a girl!

something fun i made for devin while we were dating...
WERE dating... so odd to say now.

cant wait for cold weather just so i can wear my BOOTS!

Lemons, an old favorite but i still love it!
the taste the smell the scent!

sugar anyone?

sweet leaf tea
an anyday favorite but really great if you have a sore throat!

HIS chair

So this is HIS chair.... maybe it reminds me of "those chairs" that men have to have. the chair that as ugly as it may be must stay in the living room in plain sight so that all are reminded that a Man lives here but really he just wants to see the tv from His chair. maybe it reminds me of an old mans chair that he has had for years and years and just cant let go. grant it, this poor chair is old but Devin is not. it was in his parents house and as they are moving they are giving holly (my new sis) and i a chance to take whatever we want before it goes to the garage sale pile. so this is THE thing that devin wanted. first it went to carolina with holly and logan but they didnt have space for it after all so now it is here.... with no "spot". a friend of mine(amy) came over last week to help me move ALL the furniture to make it "work" and after about 4 hours we got a great set-up .... well now we have more to work with and with amy in chicago for school i'm on my own.... its a work in progress but its getting there. so back to the chair, devin absolutely adores this chair! i have to admit it is very comfy. one of those chair you sink into for a good movie or grab a cup of hot cocoa and watch the snow fall (so i'm told, never been through a real indiana winter yet) so for now this chair has no home in the layout of our apartment but come tomorrow that will change. maybe in the bedroom, in the reading corner with my nice white chair where there is no other room.... i dont know... but i'll figure this out. he wants the chair he'll get the chair! thats love and marriage in our house today, the chair stays. i love you devin.

our first dance

we danced to Me and You by Kenny Chesney

we dont really have a song but we thought this was fitting.

Ordinary no, really don't think so
Not a love this true
Common destiny
We were meant to be
Me and you

Like a perfect scene from a movie screen
We're a dream come true
Suited perfectly for eternity
Me and you

Every day, I need you even more
And the night time too
There's no way
I could ever let you go
Even if I wanted to

Every day I live
Try my best to give
All I have to you
Thank the stars above
That we share this love Me and you

Every day, I need you even more
And the night time too
There's no way
I could ever let you go
Even if I wanted to

Ordinary no, I really don't think so
Just a precious few
Ever make it last
Get as lucky as
Me and you
Me and you
